| AMT offers simulation services for robotic palletizing
Orion, Michigan - April 9, 2007, - Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) announced the availability of simulation consulting services for robotic palletizing systems. Simulation consulting can identify potential problems and process constraints and alternate scenarios can be validated in a virtual environment saving costs associated with downtime on the plant floor. "Our engineers are experts when it comes to design & development of palletizing processes. We understand palletizing & simulation and we definitely understand robots & their capabilities," said Joe Campbell, chief operating officer for Applied Manufacturing Technologies Inc. ”With this new low cost fixed fee feasibility study using simulation, customers can minimize their risks by simulating the process before investing in a robotic palletizing system." AMT has experience with a vast array of robot systems, and uses several different software packages for the purpose of offline programming and simulation.
The advantage of intelligence
When it comes to automation, most organisations are usually focused on automating processes and data collection. Automating decision-making is seldom implemented or even thought about. Here's an organisation providing Artificial Intelligence Enterprise Solutions (AIES) that actually automate decision-making. Called Intelligent Business Systems (IBS), so far it is the only company in India that provides analytic applications for business, incorporating cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. IBS was established at the University of Sunderland (UK) in August 2003 by two people pursuing their PhDs in Artificial Intelligence – Kaustubh Chokshi and Christo Panchev. IBS clicked and they started getting contracts even before signing any deal with a venture capital. It expanded into India April 2006 and still remains a privately held company.
Heather Mills talks about her Dancing with the Stars experience so far
Apparently Heather Mills has been keeping a diary about her experiences on Dancing with the Stars. Here are a few selected clips for you: On rehearsing for the waltz: "Jonathan was in a quandary and wanted to change the beginning of the routine because every time I stepped backward, I would scrape his Achilles tendon with the heel of my shoe. But then when I stepped forward, I'd make his toes black and blue, not realizing my artificial leg was standing on his foot whilst I inquired why he was screwing his face up." "Apart from how technical the waltz is, the thing I found the hardest was the romance. Every time Jonathan asked me to fake a look of love, I would burst into hysterical laughter. He found this most disconcerting, but I explained it was nothing personal. It's just hard to act in love with a newly found friend.
